FAQ's
-
What makes the Bloom pregnancy pillow different from other pillows?Bloom is uniquely designed with a "bud-shaped" form to accommodate both the belly and breasts, providing support at every stage of pregnancy. It’s made from high-quality viscoelastic memory foam, moulded in one piece to offer full-body support and comfort, unlike many cumbersome or multi-piece pregnancy pillows. Bloom also heats to body temperature, creating a seamless, almost invisible experience that adapts naturally to the body for maximum comfort.
-
Can the Bloom pillow be used at all stages of pregnancy?Yes! Bloom is adaptable for use from 12 to 39 weeks of pregnancy, supporting the body as it changes throughout each trimester. Its flexible design and memory foam mould to each body shape for optimal comfort. Please note, it has been tested for use with single pregnancies only.
-
How does Bloom support the growing belly and breasts?Bloom's unique "bud-shaped" design contours specifically to the belly and breasts, providing soft, adaptable support as these areas change throughout pregnancy. The memory foam moulds and adapts to each body, ensuring optimal comfort. The fabric covers are designed to protect the pillow and enhance comfort, offering a soft and textured surface. They are intentionally loose-fitting to avoid hindering the performance of the memory foam, allowing it to mould perfectly to the body.
-
How does the Bloom pillow help achieve a neutral spine position? The Bloom pillow is ergonomically designed to support the body’s natural curves, promoting a neutral spine alignment. Unlike other pregnancy pillows on the market, its "bud-shaped" memory foam structure contours to each body, comfortably accommodating growing bellies and breasts. By adapting to each patient’s unique form, Bloom helps maintain a neutral spine position, relieving pressure on the spine and surrounding muscles. This alignment makes it easier for practitioners to perform adjustments and enhances overall comfort for the patient.
-
Is the Bloom pillow compatible with all treatment tables?Bloom is designed to work best with tables that have adjustable headpieces, allowing for customised positioning to meet each patient’s needs. For portable or non-adjustable tables, additional support for the head and neck may be required to ensure proper alignment and comfort during treatments.
-
Does the Bloom pillow come in different sizes?Bloom has been designed as a one-size-fits-all pillow. Its memory foam construction allows it to adapt to different body shapes and sizes, providing optimal support throughout pregnancy and beyond.
-
Is the Bloom pillow durable enough for frequent professional use?Absolutely. Bloom is made from high-quality, durable materials designed for long-term use in professional settings. The memory foam is engineered to return to its original shape after each use, maintaining its support over time. However, to ensure optimal performance, the pillow should be used in accordance with the provided instructions and stored properly when not in use.
-
What is the Bloom pillow made from, and how is it made? The Bloom pillow is crafted from premium viscoelastic memory foam, chosen for its ability to contour to the body while providing lasting support. The memory foam is moulded in a single piece, ensuring durability and consistency in comfort. To keep both the mother and baby safe, the foam is non-toxic and undergoes an off-gassing process to remove any potentially harmful odours before packing. The removable outer cover is made from organic lyocell, a sustainably sourced, breathable fabric that’s gentle on the skin and Oeko-Tex 100 certified. Additionally, the inner slip cover is made from soft yet durable viscose, designed to protect the pillow from daily wear and tear without hindering the performance of the foam. Bloom is also manufactured without any glues or adhesives, preserving the integrity and safety of its materials.
-
Is the Bloom pillow suitable for non-pregnant people?Absolutely. Bloom's ergonomic design provides excellent support and comfort for anyone, not just pregnant women. It’s also ideal for those recovering from surgery or with breast implants, as it offers extra support and relieves pressure in sensitive areas.
-
How do I clean the Bloom pregnancy pillow? The pillow comes with a removable, organic lyocell outer cover and inner viscose cover which are both machine washable. Simply unzip the covers and follow the washing instructions provided for easy maintenance. Due to the nature of the viscoelastic memory foam, the pillow itself cannot be washed. To keep it clean, always ensure the covers are in place and are washed regularly. When the covers are being washed, use the storage bag to protect the pillow. Avoid direct contact of oils, liquids, or dirt onto the pillow or covers. Keep the pillow away from smoke, humidity, and do not store it in direct sunlight. If working with massage oils, use the waterproof top cover (sold separately) and cover with an additional towel for added protection.
-
Can I use cleaning sprays or disinfectants on the Bloom pillow? No, do not use any cleaning sprays, disinfectants, or water on the memory foam itself, as this can damage the material. Instead, focus on cleaning the removable lyocell cover, which is machine washable. For added protection, consider using disposable or waterproof covers that can be sanitised between uses.
-
How do I store the Bloom pillow when not in use?Bloom is lightweight and easy to store. When not in use, place the pillow in the included storage bag to protect it from dust and damage. Avoid storing it in direct sunlight and ensure it is kept in a smoke- and humidity-free environment. The Bloom pillow can be stored either flat or vertically. Be sure to keep it away from sharp or rough objects that could damage the foam during storage.
-
How can I ensure my Bloom pillow remains in top condition and lasts for many years? The Bloom pillow is crafted from premium viscoelastic memory foam, designed to retain its shape and durability over many years. To keep it in top condition, handle the foam gently—especially if you have long or sharp nails—and take care when putting on and removing pillowcases to avoid any accidental scratches. Once in place, the pillowcases help protect the foam from contact damage. We also recommend asking patients to remove any belts or sharp objects from their clothing to prevent accidental tears. With these simple precautions, you can enjoy the comfort and quality of Bloom for years to come.
-
How often should I wash the Bloom pillow cover? We recommend washing the cover at least once a week, or more frequently if the pillow is being used daily in a clinic setting. Regular washing ensures optimal hygiene for both practitioners and patients. Additional cover sets and waterproof top covers are available to buy separately if you expect high usage.
-
Can the Bloom pillow be used with disposable covers for hygiene purposes?Yes, disposable paper covers can be used over the removable lyocell cover to maintain hygiene, especially in clinical settings. Ensure that any disposable cover used is breathable to avoid hindering the memory foam's ability to adapt to the body. If using massage oils, we recommend using the pillow with washable waterproof slip covers (sold separately), which should be changed between each patient for optimal hygiene.
-
How do I instruct a patient to safely get on and off the pillow? We have created a video demonstrating the correct way to instruct patients on how to safely get on and off the pillow. It also covers optimal positioning and adjusting the headpiece for maximum comfort. You can find the video [here]. Additionally, your pillow set will come with full written instructions on how to use it. If you need an extra set of instructions, please contact us via email.
-
How should I transport the Bloom pillow between locations? For practitioners who work in multiple locations, we recommend using the included storage bag for transporting the pillow. This will protect it from dirt, dust, and damage while being moved. Be sure to handle it carefully to avoid any contact with sharp objects.
-
What do I do with the Bloom pillow if it becomes compressed or misshapen during storage?Bloom’s memory foam is designed to return to its original shape. If the pillow becomes compressed, allow it to rest flat in a well-ventilated area, and it will naturally regain its form over time.
